Who Runs the Camp?

Camp BaltiCode is run by the Computer Science Department at Loyola University Maryland, in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Olsen's photo Dr. Megan Olsen, Computer Science Assistant Professor, is the organizer of the camp. She spends much of her time teaching computer science to college students, but she also enjoys hiking, baking, reading, and playing video games. She also organizes the Maryland/Delaware Aspirations in Computing Award, to which high school girls are eligible to apply. To find out more you can visit Dr. Olsen's website.
Andrea's photo Andrea Acosta is currently an undergraduate computer science major at Loyola University Maryland. She is a rising junior who plays the piano and ukulele, and has a black belt in taekwondo. She also loves playing video games even though she thinks she's bad at them. Besides helping out with Camp BaltiCode this summer, she will also be working with Dr. Eastman on his robotics research. Camp participants will see Andrea's presentation on her research during the second week of camp.

She attended college at Morgan State University. She enjoys playing tennis in her spare time. To find out more you can visit Dr. Fenner's website.
Dr. Eastman's photo Dr. Roger Eastman, Computer Science Professor, is helping with preparations for the camp and will be involved during the second week. In his free time Dr. Eastman enjoys biking and photography, as well as devising new and fun activities for students to do with LEDs and sensors. To find out more you can visit Dr. Eastman's website.
