Welcome to Camp BaltiCode! Ever wanted to make shoes that light up when you step? Or a music box? What about learning to code? Never even considered that you could do these types of things? Now is your chance to try it out!

Camp BaltiCode at Loyola University Maryland is a one week day camp for 11 and 12 year old girls to become makers, coders, and designers. No computer science experience necessary! In 2018, the camp will meet July 30 - August 3, 2018 at Loyola's Baltimore campus on N. Charles Street. Applications will open in June. What will YOU make?

Camp is FULL! If you are still interested, please send us an email to be put on the waiting list in case anyone cancels last minute. We won't reply to emails about being added to the wait list, but please rest assured that we got your email.

What Happens at Camp BaltiCode?

At Camp BaltiCode girls will have the opportunity to work with computer science professors and college students to learn exciting computing skills. Girls will learn how to be makers, coders, and designers. Over the course of the week girls will learn how to build items with electronics, learn to code, and learn to design items such as mobile apps. Example items that have been built in prior camps include are a stuffed animal that lights up, a music box that plays music when the lid is open, and a wearable light up ring. Girls will become Dot Divas!

Besides the camp being Super Fun, you'll also have the opportunity to learn about college and how to prepare yourself for applying to Loyola or other universities once you finish high school. You'll get a tour of campus, as well as opportunities to interact with current college students!

Testimonials

In anonymous surveys, all prior participants said they would recommend our camp to a friend. They said the camp was fun, and that they learned about science and programming. One of the most popular activities was the music box, which will be making again in 2018.

Parents were also overwhelmingly positive about the camp. One parent's comment that really sums up our goal: "The most important aspect to me is that a spark was created in my daughter to further her interest in computer science." Another parent commented that what they liked about the camp was that there "was an interesting activity every day. We had conversations about everything she did throughout the day and she was very excited." We hope you will give a girl in your life the opportunity for this experience as well, by signing her up today!
